Introduction
Three times Man
Ghana, Mr West Africa 2008 and now Mr Africa 2011, Kofi Salia is
an African Legend.
Asaase Foh (The one who stands on earth), as he likes to be named, came
very recently to this sport but his entry in Bodybuilding scene has been a
resounding one.
If he started to work out since the age of 18yo, it was then mostly as a
conditioning for Boxing, a sport that he practised for years, while competing in
Ghana national team.
Kofi, get interested in Bodybuilding 7 years ago and did his first competition
in 2007. It was the Mr Ashanti, that he won. This qualifier contest for GBBFA
(Ghana BodyBuilding & Fitness Association)
National championship, The "Man Ghana", opened him the road to a second
noteworthy performance, Kofi won the Heavy Weight class during the
National.
Having threat Bodybuilders like Mustapha Richardson, Yaw Azure or
Christopher Antoh, who ruled Ghanaian Bodybuilding for years, Kofi decided to to
redouble his efforts for the next season.
He did well...the next year he kept his regional title of Mr Ashanti, won the
National, Man Ghana '08 and in addition an international one the Woody 2008,
overall title of ABBCI's ( Association de BodyBuilding de Côte
d'Ivoire) Open West Africa.
Three years later Kofi is still reigning on Ghana Bodybuilding
with 3 consecutive wins at the Man Ghana .
In 2011 "Asaase" took his career to the next level by
winning the IFBB Mr Africa title.
The Ashanti "Monster", Kofi Salia, is actualy, a good looking, down to earth, 250Lbs
Monster. Son af an Ivorian woman and a Ghanaian man he lives in the big city of
Kumasi, capitale of the ancient Ashanti Kingdom in the center of Ghana.
He works there in a rubber factory and dedicates his free time to his passion: "Get
BIGGER" ....
His dream: follow the tracks of his role model, Arnold Schwarzenegger...which
mean rule Bodybuilding, rule Hollywood and then rule California...
